Ari and Jordan’s LA Arboretum engagement session epitomizes what floral dreams are made of! With its elegant pergolas and rose-covered arbors, stunning vistas of the San Gabriel Mountains, and forestland filled with flowering dogwood and azaleas, the LA Arboretum may be one of the most romantic places in Los Angeles for an engagement shoot. For their session, Ari, Jordan, and I spent a few hours exploring the Arboretum, taking full advantage of all the beautiful garden backdrops, lush greenery, and gorgeous daylight.
The Proposal
When it came time to propose, Jordan knew he wanted to do it in Ari’s home state of California so they could celebrate with Ari’s family. To help with the proposal, he reached out to his family friends who lived in California. He then told Ari they had lunch plans in Santa Monica with his friends at a restaurant on the end of the pier. As they approached the end of the pier, however, Jordan’s friends appeared holding a big sign that said “Ari, will you marry me?” As they stood overlooking the ocean, Jordan got down on one knee, and Ari said “yes!”
The Ring
Years ago, for their first Valentine’s Day, Jordan gave Ari a pair of vintage pear-shaped earrings. Ari loved their unique pear shape, and wore them everyday since. When it came time for Jordan to propose 3 years later, he knew that the perfect diamond shape would be a pear.
Ari’s pear-shaped engagement ring features a diamond halo and pave diamond band. The ring was crafted by Jordan’s mom’s best friend, who made Jordan’s parent’s rings years ago. Working with the same jeweler to make their own wedding bands is so special and sentimental for Ari and Jordan.
