Amy and Kyle’s black-tie wedding at Anderson House in Washington, DC was the perfect blend of elegance, sophistication, and personal touches. Inspired by their engagement at the Newport mansions, the couple chose Anderson House for its Beaux Arts blend of grandeur and intimate charm. From their chic French blue palette to Amy’s classic Anne Barge ballgown to the lush florals that adorned the ceremony and reception spaces, Amy and Kyle’s wedding was truly the epitome of old world elegance and charm.
Floral Vision
“I envisioned a classic, timeless look with all-white florals. For the ceremony, I dreamed of a grand statement arch that would complement the ballroom’s grandeur— and it turned out even more stunning than I could have imagined. The arch was truly one of my favorite design elements, bringing everything together in such a breathtaking way. It exceeded every expectation and felt like something out of a dream.”
Favorite Details
“One of my favorite details was incorporating our monogram throughout the wedding. It added such a personal and elegant touch, from the custom bar design to the menus. We even tied it into the overall décor by having the pattern on our invitations match one of the tablecloths. It created a cohesive look that made everything feel uniquely ours, while adding a subtle layer of sophistication to the day. Those little details really brought our vision to life and made the whole celebration feel even more special.”
Most Memorable Moment
“It’s nearly impossible to choose just one favorite moment from our wedding day because every part felt like a dream come true. We were overjoyed with how beautifully everything turned out and deeply grateful for the time we spent with our loved ones. But if we had to pick, one of the most special moments was our intimate dinner by the pool.
The garden at Anderson House was transformed into a magical outdoor dining space, with twinkling lights reflecting off the pool, elegant table settings, and the soft, romantic glow of candles. It was breathtaking. Sitting there, just the two of us, watching our guests laughing and enjoying dinner in that enchanting atmosphere, we felt so full of joy and gratitude.
The heartfelt speeches from my dad, our best man, and maid of honor added even more emotion to the evening. It was everything we had dreamed of—a perfect, intimate celebration with the people we love most, making the night unforgettable in every way.”
