This modern citrus-inspired wedding at the Historic Post Office is all about celebrating love! From the ombré floral centerpieces to the watercolor lemon place cards to the hand-painted ceremony backdrop, this wedding inspiration is here to provide you with your daily dose of Vitamin C and a heavy pour of happiness!

The Place Cards

For the place cards, Lustre Theory hand painted little paper leaves with watercolor. Seniman Calligraphy then hand-scripted names in white calligraphy lettering. The leaves were placed on individual lemons and tied with pink ribbon for a unique escort card display.

The Invitation Suite

The invitation suite, designed by Lustre Theory, featured a botanical citrus theme. Handmade paper, custom white calligraphy, unique stamps, and antique accents paired with colorful florals for a truly bespoke flay lay.

The Design

Citrus fruits of all kinds, fresh and dried, were used throughout the decor, and paired with a citrus ombre floral theme that moved fluidly across the table and throughout the shoot. We combined accents of blue patterned linen and antique porcelain pieces with all the smile-inducing color and fruit. For a masculine accent, we used wood chargers and heavier velvet navy napkins to represent the two grooms.

The Venue

The Historic Post Office is a unique historical venue located in downtown Hampton, Virginia. Completed in 1914, The Historic Post Office was designed during the Beaux-Arts architectural period and served for many decades as the largest U.S. Post Office in the Hampton Roads area. Now, it has been transformed into one of the most popular wedding venues in southern Virginia.
