Taylor and Daniel’s elegant Norfolk Botanical Garden engagement session is about as close to perfection as you can get. From Taylor’s long flowing Lulus dresses to Daniel’s dapper ensemble to the way they look at each other, these sweet lovebirds truly looked as if they had just stepped out of a Jane Austen novel. You can tell by their quiet moments together that they have a long history between them, and that their story will only grow deeper and more beautiful beyond their upcoming marriage and wedding day.
The Proposal
“On a crisp fall day at the age of 22, Daniel picked me up in his white Toyota Tacoma. He was wearing a suit and holding a rose. He took me to the same lake where he taught me how to skip rocks 3 years prior, and we sat and talked about our past and future. We then drove to the University of Virginia grounds. Once there, he sent me on a scavenger hunt, picking up clues taped to roses every step of the way. He correlated the clues to different locations meaningful to us during our undergraduate years. Such as ‘the place where I would bring you late night takeout while you studied for finals.’ When I reached the end, the last clue said ‘the place where I will ask you to spend the rest of your life with me.’
He then lead me to a white archway he had built, shaded by a row of trees. At that point, I was crying too hard to hear or remember much of what he said, but he got down on one knee, and I finally composed myself enough to say ‘of course.'”
The Ring
“We made my engagement ring and band from the platinum of Daniel’s grandmother’s ring. When Daniel was younger, he would wear it on a chain around his neck. I asked him about it shortly after we met, and he told me that one day, he would give it to the girl he was going to marry.”
