New York City Engagement in Central Park and the Financial District | NYC, New York

There’s something truly iconic about an engagement session in New York City — the mix of historic architecture, world-famous landmarks, and quiet little corners tucked away between the energy of the city streets. As a Washington DC wedding photographer, I always enjoy the chance to photograph couples in new places, and New York is hard to beat. For Anna and Remy’s engagement session, we started the morning in Central Park before making our way downtown to some of their favorite spots in Manhattan’s Financial District.

We met at Bow Bridge at sunrise and wandered through Central Park, stopping at Bethesda Fountain and Terrace along the way. The cloudy skies created the softest light, and the slower pace of the morning gave us plenty of time to soak in the beauty of the park before heading downtown.

From there, we explored the cobblestone streets of the South Street Seaport, with its historic storefronts, waterfront views, and the Brooklyn Bridge stretching across the skyline. We also made a stop at Stone Street, a place that holds special meaning for Anna and Remy since it’s where they first met.

From twirling through the streets to laughing together between photos, Anna and Remy brought the kind of playful energy that makes photographing engagement sessions so fun. Their connection was easy to see, whether we were walking along the waterfront, taking in the city views, or revisiting the places that are most meaningful. Exploring New York with them was such a fun change of pace, and I can’t wait to celebrate with them again on their wedding day!
